Giles started music production whilst writing jingles at college. In 1994 he developed and produced his first band, The K's who later signed to Sony releasing their material as Kulashaker with huge commercial success.

Production work with other UK indie bands followed, including Monorail's debut album and the critically acclaimed "Girl A, Girl B, Boy C" EP for My Life Story. During this time of indie success, he continued to work on and co-produce major label projects with his father, Sir George Martin, including "The Beatles Anthology" (EMI), "The Glory of Gershwin" (Mercury) and George's last album "In My Life" (Echo).

Following this early creative experience, Giles concentrated on combining more songwriting with his production duties, skills that helped him during his work as in-house A&R producer at the Sony label, Instant Karma.

In 2003 Giles left Instant Karma and established himself as a freelancer again, producing and contributed as a writer to the chart topping debut album for the Universal artist, Hayley Westenra, "Pure" which became the most successful classical debut of all time.

Reunited in the the studio with his father in 2004, he commenced work on the production of the soundtrack for "Love" the Beatles / Cirque du Soleil show that opened in Las Vegas in June 2006. The critically acclaimed show and Grammy-winning soundtrack album have gone on to break box-office and sales records.

Since his ground-breaking work on the Love project, Giles has worked on a diverse range of projects in new media, film, TV, and the theatre. He also acts as Sound Experience Leader for the audio company SONOS and is the global Head of Audio and Sound at Universal Music Group.
